Junior Church

The Junior Church meets in the church hall every Sunday morning during the Parish Eucharist. We commence our morning with a short act of worship where the children participate in various prayers, songs and games based on the theme for the week. We follow the same Lectionary as the main congregation using lessons taken from Roots for churches and Susan Sayers (Pebbles and Rocks). We currently have two children’s groups, Scramblers (reception and years 1 and 2) and Climbers (years 3 – 7). For special events during the church year, (Harvest, Christmas, Easter, Mothers and Fathers days) we join both groups together for an activity, which usually involves glue, paint or glitter! Our morning ends with the children returning to the church to receive a blessing at the altar rail with their parents.

This year during Lent, the children participated in the Christian Aid campaign “Count your blessings”. They also made their mothers a thank you book on Mothering Sunday. Future activities will include a Fathers Day activity, packing the Harvest gift boxes, advent activities and our annual end of year party.
