Fr Martin came to this parish as incumbent in September of 2008. He began his life in Somerset, and before he entered into the ordained ministry he worked as a Piano Tuner and taught music. He trained for the ministry at St. Stephen's House in Oxford before being ordained deacon in Wells Cathedral in July 1996 by Bishop Jim Thompson. He served his curacy in St.Thomas's Church, Wells, and in January 2000 he became Rector of three beautiful Churches in the Somerset villages of Brent Knoll, East Brent and Lympsham. *Curate: The Reverend Fr Daniel McCarthy  
Fr Daniel began his curacy at St Bartholomew’s in July 2010. He is married to Alison and has two lovely boys Benjamin (b.2007) and Caed (b.2010). After completing his degree in law (1998) Daniel embarked on 3 years of youth work experience. The first was in a rural setting (Ripon, Kirkby Malzeard, 1999); the second in an urban setting (Thundersly, Essex, 2000); and the third an inner city placement (Kensington, Liverpool, 2001). He then worked as a civil servant in London whilst being part of a leadership team to plant a new church in Basildon, Essex (2001-2004). In 2005 Daniel and Alison answered a possible call from God to move to Newcastle upon Tyne to live and be a Christian presence with the local church of Fawdon.
